![]() Bold and CourageousFine Art Gicleé available Contact us to purchase and for more size options I was commissioned in 2015 by UW Hospital and Clinics and American Family Children’s Hospital to paint six large pieces. I chose to paint a series of flowers, called Paintings of Love to Bring Hope and Healing. I want those who see my paintings there to feel loved, be encouraged, be healed and to have hope. I named the sunflower painting Bold and Courageous. Georgia O Keefe’s art inspired me because of how she painted some of her work, which is zoomed in. So, I wanted to do that with this painting. There are a lot of times in the hospital, or in everyday life, that we have to be brave. This painting is a good reminder to me and to all of us that there are times we have to be bold, daring and brave even during times that are hard and discouraging. |
![]() Hopeful HeartFine Art Gicleé available Contact us to purchase and for more size options I was commissioned in 2015 by UW Hospital and Clinics and American Family Children’s Hospital to paint six large pieces. I chose to paint a series of flowers, called Paintings of Love to Bring Hope and Healing. I want those who see my paintings there to feel loved, be encouraged, be healed and to have hope. My first painting was the water lily and I call it Hopeful Heart. To me, the dark blue water represents the darkest situations. The lily pads represent the foundation that supports the flower – for example, people who are in my life like my parents, doctors and friends. The flower represents a heart blooming out with hope and love. It is like renewed life blooming out of the darkest situations. |
![]() Tulips of LoveFine Art Gicleé available Contact us to purchase and for more size options I was commissioned in 2015 by UW Hospital and Clinics and American Family Children’s Hospital to paint six large pieces. I chose to paint a series of flowers, called Paintings of Love to Bring Hope and Healing. I want those who see my paintings there to feel loved, be encouraged, be healed and to have hope. Tulips of Love was my third painting in this series. Tulips remind me of love and friendship. I love giving flowers to my friends to show them how much I care and how thankful I am to have them in my life. I wanted to give flowers to bring joy and express my love for each important person on my journey of healing. |
![]() Miracle of ThanksgivingFine Art Gicleé on canvas available Contact us to purchase and for more size options I was commissioned in 2015 by UW Hospital and Clinics and American Family Children’s Hospital to paint six large pieces. I chose to paint a series of flowers, called Paintings of Love to Bring Hope and Healing. I want those who see my paintings there to feel loved, be encouraged, be healed and to have hope. My last three paintings were a triptych that I call Miracle of Thanks. This was a new challenge for me. I picked one of my favorite art works of Georgia O’Keefe as my inspiration named: Hickory Leaves with Daisy (1928). I chose to use the wood violet and the oak leaves because they come from Wisconsin, which is the overall theme for the art in the American Family Children’s Hospital. The wood violet is Wisconsin’s state flower. Miracle of Thanks means so much to me. I wanted to place it in a color palette that reminds me of beautiful fall colors. To me it means being thankful for the family and friends in our lives. It also means being thankful for all of the miracles that God has done in my life. I hope that miracles and blessings come to people who see these paintings. |

![]() Marigold for Melissa30" x 30" Contact us to purchase and for more size options My sister, Melissa, has inspired me in so many ways. I wanted to go to college because she did. While living my dream as a student in the Cutting-Edge program at Edgewood College, I painted Marigold for Melissa because I admire her so much. |
![]() Greetings From WisconsinFine Art Gicleé on canvas available
Contact us to purchase and for more size options Todd and Jerilyn Bramson are longtime family friends. They commissioned me to do a painting that reminded them of Wisconsin. Jerilyn saw my painting of my dog, Hershey and wanted a painting of an animal too. Todd was wearing cow shorts. Jerilyn and Todd both said, “What about a cow?” I wanted to do a close-up of a cow and do it like my Hershey painting, so I went to the Dane County Fair to see cows close up. I noticed they all had ear tags and I thought it would be fun to put one in this painting. |

![]() Inspiring The CommunityFine Art Gicleé on canvas available 24" x 20" Contact us to purchase and for more size options This was my first time doing buildings, streets and people, even me putting myself in this painting. I called it “Inspiring the Community” because I have a personal connection to the Overture Center. When I go there to see Broadway shows, I feel at home and I feel like the Overture Center describes the word “community.” We can inspire a lot of people if we work as a community. |
![]() Barn and Hay BalesContact us to purchase and for more size options In 2017 I was in a Painting II class at Edgewood College. My first assignment was to do a landscape. I remember driving out into the country and I saw hay bales in the fields and thought it would be fun to do a painting with a barn and hay bales in it. So I did. This was my first time doing a landscape and doing a painting that was just a painting and not for someone specific. |

I painted this in my Painting I class at Edgewood College and it was my first time to use water soluble oils. My assignment was to paint whatever I wanted. At the time, my dog was 11 and I wanted to paint him so I could always remember him. I’m so glad I did. He passed in 2017 at 12 years old. I am so very thankful for him in my life.

![]() Sunshine Rose for RobynFine Art Gicleé on canvas available $250 Contact us to purchase and for more size options I really like painting roses. A favorite actress of mine is Robyn who was a peer mentor for me in a theater class at Edgewood College. She is a rose of sunshine to me and always makes me smile. |
![]() Liz's LilyFine Art Gicleé on canvas available $250 Contact us to purchase and for more size options I did this still-life painting in a painting class I took at Edgewood College. I titled it Liz’s Lily for Liz because she my first peer mentor at Edgewood College when I was a Cutting Edge student there. I met her at Freshman Orientation and I felt God connected us. We became really, really good friends. She is one of my favorite role models. She does a good job at keeping me in line. Her kind personality reminds me of a lily. |
![]() Promise of JoyFine Art Gicleé on canvas available 30" x 24" $300 Contact us to purchase and for more size options Promise of Joy was made in honor of Al Ripp who was the Executive Director of MOM’s Food Pantry. Alex and Al became friends through the “Creating for Causes Holiday Art Fair” fundraiser. Alex painted this based on Al’s wife, Shari’s memories, including the rainbow which shone in the sky shortly after Al passed. |
![]() Take a BowFine Art Gicleé on canvas available
$350 Contact us to purchase and for more size options Alex’s original painting, Take a Bow, was inspired by and now hangs at the Overture Center for the Arts in Madison, WI. ![]() Van Gogh's SunflowersFine Art Gicleé on canvas available $200 |
![]() FlowerworksFine Art Gicleé on canvas available $200 Contact us to purchase and for more size options Flowerworks was my first painting. Cathy Ostrom, a friend and former owner of The Art Room in Middleton WI, had invited me over to help me learn how to paint. We looked at paintings of Georgia O Keefe and Vincent Van Gogh, and on her table she had lots of flowers. I started painting and made this for my mom because I love her very very much. My mom cried when I gave it to her because it expressed my feelings for her more than I had ever been able to say in words. |
![]() Fabulous FishFine Art Gicleé on canvas available $200 |
![]() Tropical FlowersFine Art Gicleé on canvas available $175 Contact us to purchase and for more size options This was an early painting that I did with my first art mentor, Cathy Ostrom. Cathy taught me a lot about art and being an artist. I called the painting Tropical Flowers. I was learning about Impressionism and I wanted to try it with my brushstrokes. I had fun exploring the use of color and the Impressionistic style. I painted this for my mom’s 50th birthday. |
![]() Tulips for ToreyFine Art Gicleé on canvas available $200 |
![]() Sailing On A BreezeFine Art Gicleé on canvas available $200 Contact us to purchase and for more size options For my second painting, Cathy from the Art Room showed me pictures by Vincent Van Gogh. I knew Van Gogh because Starry Night was my sister, Melissa’s favorite painting and she had a poster of it on her wall. I painted outside on Cathy’s deck looking over Lake Mendota and she asked me to paint a sailboat. I wanted to do a painting of a boat on a beach and add some of the swirls from Van Gogh’s painting. I made it for my sister. This painting is a feature painting of my art business. |
![]() Feathered FriendOriginal Sold Fine Art Gicleé on canvas available $200 Contact us to purchase and for more size options Birds remind me of waking up early in the morning and listening to the pretty sounds that they make. These sounds remind me of my Grandma and how she would look out her window and hear them. Feathered Friend was my first time doing mixed media using a real feather in my painting and was part of my first art exhibition. |
